About Mr. Pack

GETTING TO KNOW MR. PACK:

I am a native and lifelong resident of the great state of Utah.  I spent two years in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  If I focus intently I can still speak and understand Portuguese.   The University of Utah bestowed a BS degree in Elementary Education upon me in 2000 and I have been teaching at Saint Olaf Catholic School since that time.

I have been blessed with a wonderful wife, five fantastic children, and three angelic grandchildren who are the light of my life.  Reading, movies, my family are all passions of mine. I am lucky enough to bring my love of reading to the classroom where I can influence students to appreciate literature.

St. Olaf Catholic School is a second home to me.  I love the community of students, parents, and parishioners that we have here.  God has led me to this school and I have been welcomed unconditionally by everyone I have encountered on our campus.  I look forward to many more prosperous and fulfilling years here.

If you could have lunch with 1 person dead or alive, who would that be and why?
My Grandma Webb, my mother’s mother.  I would stop by her apartment in Salt Lake after my classes at the U and have lunch with her.  A Greek Souvlaki was on the corner of her block, so we would get take out from there and go back to her place and, eat, talk, and relax.  I miss those times, so I would definitely want to eat lunch with her again.
What is something on your Bucket List?
Seeing all three of my grandchildren graduate from high school, get married, and start families of their own.
What book have you read that changed you and why?
The Book of Mormon has been the most influential and life-changing book I have ever read.  It contains the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and as I reread this book over and over again I find true peace and the renewed commitment to being a true disciple of our Savior Jesus Christ.
What could you spend all day talking about?
Books!  I love talking about books, especially young adult fiction.  Oh! And movies.
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
A the moment I reengaged with the online video game World of Warcraft.
