However, it wasn’t long before people started sharing stories with us of incredible individuals with Down syndrome doing amazing things. And, Zeke himself shows us every day how amazing he is and all that he CAN do. We like to say he "puts the Z in amazing".
Shortly after Zeke's 1st birthday we founded amaZingZ.org to raise money for organizations that had inspired us and that support people with Down syndrome. amaZingZ.org raises money for Ruby's Rainbow that grants scholarships to adults with Down syndrome that want to go to college and continue their education past high school. Ruby's Rainbow shares story after story of people with Down syndrome changing perceptions, exceeding expectations, and accomplishing their dreams. We have been able to grant a scholarship each year in Zeke's name.
And we raise money for Reece's Rainbow who provides grants to families adopting children with special needs internationally. When Zeke was one, we were made aware of a fundraiser for a little boy name Ryker, who was the exact same age as Zeke and was in an orphanage at the time. Our hearts broke to think of Zeke in an orphanage without a family to love him. Since then we have also donated to Reece's Rainbow. We were able to help bring that little boy home and since then, two additional children home to their forever family. Each of these kids are thriving with families that love them.
Casual for a Cause this month will go towards Ruby's and Reece's Rainbow to help send a young adult to college and help bring another orphan home. This is our first ever Virtual Cause and donations can be made at HERE
