Read Across America Week, a HUGE Success!

How do you spark into flame a love of reading? We think you share with students a wide variety of captivating stories about all kinds of subject matter from Angels and Saints to dinosaurs. Stories can be relatable with grade school or middle school characters, or stoke the imagination as heroes and champions come to life within the pages. For Read Across America Master planner and 4th grade teacher, Ms. Allen, her year starts with a 40 book reading challenge covering 11 genres, from poetry to fantasy, to biographies so Read Across America Week continues this exposure to so many kinds of books! More than 80 books went home with students, many of them signed by the authors. To say this was a great week wouldn’t quite capture it so we asked our students.

What did the kids have to say…

“…Oh my gosh, it was all so awesome!!!!

My favorite part was drawing Marty Pants with the author (Mark Parisi)

The best was when Mark had to draw Marty with his eyes closed, that was so funny.

I loved the Angels Author. I hope I win her book. I want to read about all angels.

The best part was hearing about the Cece author’s most embarrassing moment when her pants ripped and drawing our own creaturas!

My favorite was being God’s Storyteller! The author said we all can tell stories and be authors.

I loooooovvvvveee dinosaurs! That book is based on a true story and I got a personalized autograph in my book.

I liked getting to meet the author and having her here at school. She lives in Utah!

I can’t believe Frank signed posters for us AND we get his book too! I am so excited!!!!!

The artwork in the Francis of Assisi book is incredible, I would frame any page because it reminds me of who he was.

I think the book about the animals was a very good idea because there are a lot of animal stories in the Bible. That was my favorite book!”

Kelli-Ann,

Thanks so much for having me! The kids were great and I had a blast.

I appreciate your feedback. Thrilled to have gotten through to a tough crowd like middle schoolers!

Hope to speak to your school again sometime. Ok if we use some of your gushing quote in the promo material?

If you want to leave a review on Amazon, that’s always welcome.

Thanks again! Looks like you’re having quite the literary week there!
