About Ms. Dodge

GETTING TO KNOW MS. DODGE

Tell us about yourself:
My name is Rachel Dodge. I have taught violin and viola privately for 5 years and this will be my second year teaching music here at Saint Olaf. I'm so excited to begin the first stage of our violin program this August! I attended the Madeleine Choir School in Salt Lake City for K-8 and studied Viola Performance at the University of Utah. I play the viola and violin, and spend a lot of my time finding different ways to play music and organize concerts. I perform in a string quartet and have performed with bands, orchestras, recording tracks and music videos. I'm hoping in the next few years to be able to expand our instrumental classes at St. Olaf to viola and cello.

What is something on your Bucket List? I would love to go skydiving and visit every continent!

What is your favorite thing about teaching or working with young people? I love watching students find their love and excitement for music.

What do you like to do when you’re not working? I love to go hiking, bake and make up my own recipes, and to play music and go to concerts..
