About Mr. Vatsend

Hi! My name is Joseph Vatsend, or Mr. V. I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have three sisters and one brother.
I graduated from the University of Utah in 2007 with a B.A. in English Literature. I then pursued a teaching license at Westminster College, graduating in 2011 with a Master of Arts in Teaching. During my schooling I had many opportunities to work as a substitute, as well as an assistant teacher for a variety of schools. I have worked in education for more than 15 years, serving in public, private, charter, and Montessori schools, with students as young as three and as old as 17.
I began teaching at Saint Olaf in 2011, and love the community I serve. I consider Saint Olaf my conversion story—as it was here that I learned about the Catholic faith, and witnessed the joy the families in the school and parish have. I'll never forget my first year of Friday Masses and how much it brought the school closer together by gathering at the end of each week.

How to do Flashcards

Thanks to these kiddos for volunteering to show how to do flashcards. If you can't see the numbers very well, you add two numbers together, with one number staying the same.
