Ten Commandments - 7th and 8th
Read the attached article about the 7th (stealing) and 8th (false witness) commandments.
Both of these commandment focus on how we live our lives as Christians (Catholics) or even just as people in a social community.
Consider how these two Commandments apply to your life now - as an 8th grader, as a freshman in high school, during this pandemic (health concerns)...
How do these two commandments define/explain your relationship with God?
How can social media enhance or 'steal' an other's dignity or self-respect?
How can attitudes enhance or 'steal' dignity from a profession or career (e.g. grocery worker, garbage collector, cashier, mail carrier, restaurant employee)?
How does bearing false witness - lying - destroy citizen's trust in their leaders (religious, government, work, school, etc.)?
How does bearing false witness diminish your self-respect - especially when it appears no one is aware of the lie?

YES, I know Father's Day is in June! However, these are the last weeks of school and as you finish your 8th grade year we should also acknowledge the contributions of dads, grandfathers, uncles, or other males in your life! If you want to save the card, coupon, etc. for June do so.
How can you demonstrate your gratitude for all these individuals have done for you up to now?
How can you demonstrate your gratitude for all these individuals have done for you up to now?
Father's Day is a celebration honoring fathers and their influence on the family and society. Father's Day is a special opportunity for us to recognize positive male influence and all they do for the family.
Do SOMETHING for you dad, grandpa, etc. everyday this week! What can you do?
Give him a hug and say "Thank you" (in the morning and evening!)
Make his favorite meal!
Clean up the kitchen...the family room... the yard... without complaining.
Resist the urge to quarrel with your siblings.
Go for a walk or a bike ride.
Reframe from complaining - all week!
Do one of his 'chores' (keep safety in mind!)
Give him one hour of uninterrupted time - take care of yourself instead!
Let him pick the movie or TV series.
Play a game with him (alone or with siblings)
Do a creative project together - gardening, woodworking, etc.
Recreate a famous painting together.
Take a selfie together!
OR
Print out one of the attach files and create a special item for dad OR use it as inspiration for creating your own art project.
Print out gift tags or make your own and leave them around the house as you do things for him or just to let him know your aware of what he does.

1 Peter 3:4: "You should be known for the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God."
Mother's Day is a celebration honoring the mothers of the family and the influence of mothers in society. Mother's Day is a special opportunity for us to recognize our mother and all she does for the family.
Do SOMETHING for you Mom everyday this week! What can you do?
Give her a hug and say "Thank you" (in the morning and evening!)
Help her make a meal OR make the meal yourself - breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner!
Clean up the kitchen...the family room... the BATHROOM...help your siblings clean up their rooms - without complaining.
Resist the urge to quarrel with your siblings
Go for a walk with your mom.
Do the laundry - collect, wash, dry, fold, and put away (or at least deliver to individual's room)
Give her one hour of uninterrupted time - take care of yourself instead!
Let her pick the movie or TV series.
Play a game with her (alone or with siblings)
Look through photos (digital or print) - ask her to share the story behind the picture.
Read a story together OR read a story for your siblings so mom gets a break.
Do a creative project together - gardening, crafting, etc.
