Good Morning!

 

We will be having a math test on Thursday.  It will be focusing on multiplying decimals.  We will have a review tomorrow (Wednesday).  The students will be allowed to use his/her book as a reference.  Next week we will start dividing decimals

 

This week we will also be finishing up colony reports in social studies that the students created and presented on Google Slides,  We are moving onto the French/Indian War (Seven Years War), and volcano reports in Science that the students made on poster boards.  In writing, we will be continuing learning how to cite sources and how to take information and put it into our own words. (no plagiarizing) 

 

In religion, we will be talking about Advent.  

We will have a test on adding and subtracting decimals tomorrow.  The students will be allowed to use his/her books as a reference, if needed.

 

This week in we will focus on multiplying decimals in math, presenting colony reports in social studies, continuing earth's systems in science, and hopefully finishing up our novel in reading.  In ELA, the students will continue informative writing.

Next week we will be honoring our military veterans, past and present.  If you have a picture of a relative who served or is serving, and would like to have it displayed, please have your student bring it by this Thursday (Nov. 8).  You will get the photo back. If you want to send a JPEG file or a copy of a photo, we can make a copy of it.

I am giving the students his/her spelling lists today for next week.  We will be having our spelling tests on Thursday, as there won't be school on Friday.

The students did a great job reading at Mass today!

 

Please remember to have your students study their spelling words...tests scores are starting to slip a little.

I was unable to put grades into Renweb this weekend.  I needed the district code, which is defaulted on my school laptop, but not my home laptop.  I will be working throughout the day and this evening to update the grades.  Tomorrow the students will get a missing assignment sheet if they have any missing work.  ALL MISSING WORK NEEDS TO BE TURNED IN BY 8:00 AM ON THURSDAY, OCT. 18.

Next week is the end of the term.  I will be updating grades this weekend and will send a missing assignment list home on Monday if your student has anything missing.

We will be having picture day tomorrow.  The students need to be in dress uniforms.

 

 

We will be having a science test on Tuesday.  It will be on chemical and physical changes.  The student will be able to use his/her science notes from past assignments.  They will be tested on what is a chemical and physical change, the properties of matter (solid, liquid, gas), and the definition of matter (cannot be made or changed), and giving examples of both chemical and physical changes.

Our math assignment took longer than expected today (long division).  We will finish the class work tomorrow, so no math homework tonight.  Make sure your student is studying his/her spelling words and reading 30 minutes per night.  They can also work on Prodigy -- I am still working on Kahn Academy.  Some students were able to log in, but some need a parent to log them in to add me as a coach.  Class code is:  Y8VCPXA3 (all caps)
