SAINT OLAF HOSTS THE VALENTINE MIDDLE SCHOOL DANCE

  • Dances are open to 7th & 8th Grade students enrolled in Utah Catholic Schools.
  •  Students may not loiter in the parking lot and/or on school grounds before and/or after dances.
  • Students will not be admitted to dances after 7:00pm nor will they be allowed to leave before 8:30pm.
  • School ID, Utah Catholic Schools Dance Pass, or being identified by a chaperone from your school is required for admittance.
  • Students must be picked up promptly at 8:30pm.  Students who are not picked up on time may not be allowed to attend the next dance at the discretion of the school administration.
  • Students are expected to be neat in their appearance, observing standards of modesty and respect.  The current culture of trendy clothing does not always mirror the values of Utah Catholic Schools, and what may be acceptable attire in modern American culture may be considered inappropriate for dances.
  • Prohibited attire includes, but is not limited to:
    • Headwear (hats and bandanas)
    • Jackets/Outerwear, including hoodies
    • Outfits that bare midriff, shoulders and/or chest
    • Miniskirts/shorts/dresses (must extend the length of arm/finger)
    • Clothing with inappropriate pictures and/or slogans
    • Flip Flops or barefoot
    • The administration of the host school has final discretion with respect to dress.
  • Food, drink, purses, bags, cell phones and cameras are not allowed in dances.  Cell phones will be collected upon arrival and given back to students at the end of the dance.  Cell phones being used during dances will be confiscated, and the student(s) may not be allowed to attend the next dance at the discretion of the school administration.
  • Student attendance represents his/her school; therefore his/her conduct should reflect the school wide learning expectations.  Contrary behavior, including inappropriate dancing, will not be tolerated, and the student may be asked to leave.  Chaperones have final discretion with respect to behavior.  Disciplinary actions will be reported to the administration of the school(s) involved.
