8th Grade Casual for a Cause Recipient

Each year during the month of January, our Casual for a Cause is dedicated to an 8th grader who is continuing their education into a Catholic High School. We raise funds and support that student as they move forward. This year, an anonymous donor has decided to match our donation for the next 3 years, so that our student will receive this amount each year that they are in Catholic High School. That means our community has contributed $2400 to the continual education of this year's recipient, π—–π—˜π—–π—œπ—Ÿπ—œπ—” π—§π—¨π—–π—žπ—˜π—₯!

What Others See

A special Thank You sent to us after a high school Senior volunteered with our students and faculty this January. In these moments, may we never forget that our ordinary is extraordinary. Thank you for your service Juan Diego Seniors!

"If this declares the end of my time at St. Olaf's, I do want to say thank you. Your school has reminded me that every person has inherent worth and that every person deserves to be heard. I feel like these kids not only saw me, but they saw each other. I love the community at your school, and it's amazing how much you all care about each other. Your school made me excited to wake up in the morning, and I came home from every day feeling honestly very fulfilled. Thank you for making a place for me and for making me feel like I belong. Your school did such an amazing job of helping me learn how to work with kids, and I really appreciate how involved you let me be. Thank you for all that you've done, I'm sorry that I didn't get to say goodbye in person.

I'm hoping that I'll be able to come back soon. Your school and your community have a very special place in my heart. Thank you for all that you've done for me, and thank you for making my senior service project so amazing."

Consider Pandemic Data, Consider a Private School

If you’ve never considered a private school, now might be the time. Below is the data from a recent article in the Salt Lake Tribune concerning Utah public/charter school students and the pandemic.

The article lists many sobering numbers and findings, opening with a quote from author Courtney Tanner:

β€œSome decline was expected, but the state said it was worse than its worst-case scenarios.”
